Toyota Invests $100 Million In 3 Startup Companies

How is the month of July going for you? Things are on the up and up here at Gray-Daniels Toyota! This month we wanted to be sure to let you know about the latest developments on the startup front as it relates to Toyota.

Toyota AI Ventures will soon be kicking off a $100 million investment from the Toyota Research Institute. These funds will be distributed between three tech startup companies. The aim of this venture is to invest in companies that are developing technology that our company finds useful and may utilize in future vehicles and experiments moving forward. The focus is to invest in companies that are working on things such as artificial intelligence, robotics, autonomous driving, along with technology focused on the cloud/big data.

We are very pleased to tell you a little bit about the 3 startup companies that will receive funding. Nauto is a company that has produced a camera that can be attached to your vehicle. This camera has many sensors that detect collisions, risky maneuvers, and driving behavior in order to prevent collisions. Slamcore is a company focused on producing algorithms that can be synched up with autonomous vehicles, drones, along with VR technology. Intuition Robotics is a company that is currently producing a robot that assists older people with remaining active and engaged. It has comparisons to the robotics technology that our company has already been producing.

We are very excited about this venture, and will be sure to keep you updated on the latest developments. Don’t hesitate to reach out should you need any assistance in regards to service of your vehicle, or the purchase of a new vehicle.

Until next time,

Team Gray-Daniels Toyota
